Building Careers UK are currently recruiting on behalf of a well established social housing association for a Risk and Business Assurance OfficerJob Summary
* The role is responsible for supporting the Governance and Compliance Partner in the development and operation of the group wide Risk and Assurance Framework. Working with colleagues across the business, the post holder will play a key part in ensuring robust risk management arrangements are in place and internal control is effective
Responsibilities
* Assist managers in analysing the impact and probability of risks crystallising
* Support senior colleagues in identifying controls to mitigate risks, and assessing the effectiveness of those controls
* Apply knowledge of the external operating environment to support managers in identifying new and emerging risks
* Work with the Governance and Compliance Partner to ensure risks are escalated where appropriate
* Review Internal audit reports and conduct independent monitoring of responses to Internal Audit recommendations to ensure audit findings are addressed in line with agreed timescales
* Perform an evidence based follow up of Internal Audit recommendations to test recommended controls are fully implemented within agreed target dates and report findings to the Leadership Team
* Challenge and advise senior colleagues where gaps in implementation of audit recommendations are identified
* Assist with risk and assurance reporting to Board, Audit and Risk Committee and Management
Expeirence Needed
* Knowledge of risk management and frameworks and processes business assurance
* Good working knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment for housing
* Ability to challenge and test internal controls and processes
* Ability to identify and interpret complex information and data
* Ability to analyse and use judgement to compare and evaluate options and take informed decisions
* Ability to work under pressure, prioritise workload of self and others and meet performance targets and deadlines
* Ability to draft Board and Committee reports to a high standard
* High level of IT competency including in risk management and performance systems
