Section 278 Works Site Manager

Job Description

Our client is looking for a Section 238 Works Site Manager to run a £2m major roadworks project in Merseyside.

The project is due to start in early February 2019 and will run for a period of 14 weeks. Hours of work will be Sun-Thurs 7PM TO 5AM.

The successful applicant must have SMSTS, First aid and relevant experience on similar projects. NRSWA supervisor is desirable.

Duties will include but not limited to:

1 Supervising all subcontractors on site with safety and ensuring that safe working method statements are followed.
2 Carryout site inductions for all subcontractors and personnel.
3 Complete the daily site attendances register each day
4 Carryout detailed tool box talks as and when required or at least 1 to 2 per week.
5 Maintain the orders for consumables/sub-contract requirements and any other site needs that may become apparent.
6 Maintain drawing registers
7 Ensure all safety certificates for operatives and plant are kept up to date and valid.
8 Complete a weekly S50 including each item is signed off in the correct time.
9 Ensure all temporary work drawings are in place including checking and signing off weekly or when alterations are made.
10 Ensure that permits are correctly written with full description/content and existing services drawings are included within the permit pack.
11 Ensure the Traffic Management plans are regularly checked.
