A Leading Construction Contractor based in the Merseyside region is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their successful team. The company has a focus on design and build projects with schemes varying in size. They are looking for someone who's managed projects individually up to 10m or worked larger projects as part of a team. The position will be an integral role within the Merseyside division with the successful applicant reporting directly to the Commercial Director.
As a Quantity Surveyor you will include dealing with tenders from contractors, legal constraints and the project cost, also duties include:
* Managing costs on a wide variety of new building projects and structures and undertaking costs analysis
* Advising on procurement strategy
* Involvement in design meetings and advising on build-ability issues
* Assisting in establishing a client's requirements and undertaking feasibility studies
* Performing risk and value management and cost control
* Providing advice n contractual claims
As part of your job role as a Quantity Surveyor you will be responsible for more junior members of the commercial team such as Project / Assistant Quantity Surveyors. In addition, you will be tasked with liaising with the client, compiling CVRs, Variations and validating work of those who report in to you. The ideal person will have a proven track record as a Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor or developer. You will ideally have experience working on projects up to £10m and possess a recognised construction qualification such as degree (preferred) or HND.
