Setting-Out Site Engineer

Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Site Engineer to work on a large city centre development in Liverpool. This is a permanent, staff-based opportunity, not freelance/contract.

The scheme in question is one of the biggest construction schemes in the city in recent years; an £80m mixed-use apartment scheme consisting of multiple RC Frame blocks.

The main contractor are currently seeing a vast increase in work in the North West whilst having at least 18 months to run on the current Liverpool scheme before handover in September 2019. Their increased workload comes predominantly from their long term relationship with one of the UK's biggest student accommodation providers who are continuing with the vast expansion plans throughout the North of England. Further similar schemes in Liverpool are likely also.

On this major scheme they now require an experienced setting-out engineer to initially work with and oversee the groundworks sub-contractors, setting out and checking work is to specification. Following this you will be moving on to work with the teams in charge of the various RC Frames.

Essential & Desired experience/Qualifications
* BSc Eng in Civil Engineering (desirable not essential)
* Setting out (marking the position of structures) and levelling the site
* Surveying the site
* Groundwork/Structures experience
* Checking drawings and quantities and ensuring that the calculations are accurate for the work
* Supervising and monitoring the site labour force and monitoring the work of any subcontractors
* Overseeing quality control and safety matters on the site, and ensuring that regulations are adhered to
* Resolving any unexpected technical difficulties, and other problems that may arise.
* Must have relevant, up to date CSCS Card and First Aid certificate. SMSTS certificate also preferable.

The role attracts a highly negotiable salary with a car allowance in addition.
