Job Description
We're currently looking to help a Manchester based client of ours with their requirement to recruit an experienced Site Manager to their existing and long-standing team.Our client are a privately owned, family business - presently turning over circa £10m per annum - with over 30 years experience of delivering a range of projects through the construction sector. From their Manchester base, they predominantly work in Greater Manchester but occasionally stretch into Merseyside & Cheshire.
Their new build operation - often delivering open market & social housing up to circa 30 units per site - are seeing a further increase in work, after a busy & successful last 5 years. As such, they require an experienced Site Manager, with a strong track record to supplement their team.
The first project here would be a development of 30 new build apartments, & 10 new build timber frame houses, in Stockport. The next project would likely be a development of 35 timber frame homes, near Stockport.
They are looking to appoint someone before the end of April but would obviously wait for the right candidate, especially with respect to a notice period.
Key Responsibilities;
* Day to day running of the development and provide clear direction to those working on the construction site regarding their responsibilities and targets.
* Overseeing all associated packages from the initial demolition, groundworks and enabling works to snagging for handover.
* Reporting directly to the Construction Director regarding site progression and changes to the schedule of works Conducting Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Site Inductions and Toolbox Talks.
* Ensuring that all work is carried out efficiently as well as safely and to NHBC quality standards Liaising with the client and customers where appropriate Ensuring that all work is carried out efficiently as well as safely and to NHBC quality standards.
* Fully conform to building regulations and warranty providers' requirements (NHBC, LABC Services).
* Implementation of health and safety procedures, working closely with Health & Safety Managers and ensure that that all aspects of health and safety are followed and adhered too.
* Deliver all aspects of production requirements in strict accordance with relevant technical and planning documentation provided and any subsequent instructions that may be necessary from time to time.
* Ensure that adequate site records are maintained including reports, labour requirements, plant, materials, site inductions and health and safety records.
Qualifications required;
* SMSTS, First aid & CSCS
* Experience of working as an No1 Site Manager with a residential house builder, where you can demonstrate you managed the project from inception to completion.
