Job Description

I'm looking to help a key client of ours to recruit an experienced Site Manager for a new scheme on the East side of Manchester City Centre.

Our client are an ambitious main contracting Housing developer, set up in recent years with some exciting growth plans. Typically they deliver new build housing & apartments, for private open-market sale but also deliver schemes for secondary clients, with a private rent end user facility.

My client - the main contractor - are currently on site at a handful of schemes throughout the North West; all new build residential schemes consisting of new build houses & apartments. Their latest scheme is a brand new development in East Manchester; consisting of 170 homes - a mixture of traditional houses & multistory apartments. This scheme is for a private rental client for whom they do a lot of repeat work.
Remediation is just beginning which is programmed to last circa 4 months but they're looking to bring in the Site Manager asap, to be involved from early inception of this scheme.

I personally know the Construction Director as a client of mine for a number of years previously. He and the team he's brought in at the companies inception are a nice, personable bunch, who'll entrust experienced managers to do their job and leave them to do so. None of the micromanagement of the big PLC's & Contractors which you might be used to.

They require an experienced Site/Senior Site Manager to oversee the x3 apartment blocks consisting 100 units.
Reporting to the visiting Build Manager you'll be responsible for all aspects including programme coordination & management, sub contract coordination, quality management, SHE Management etc.
Obviously you will need to understand cost control and will be required to provide leadership for the team below them; to include Section Managers and/or Finishing Managers when programme requires.

They are keenly looking for a manager with previous contracting experience, delivering for a secondary/external client, as opposed to delivery to the open market & customers.

This would be a fantastic time for an experienced and ambitious individual to join this company given the growth they'll see as a main contractor in the coming 2 to 5 years which will undoubtedly see further career progression opportunities.

Salary on offer is negotiable but could range from £58k to £63k + a strong benefits package (including car allowance, milage, pension, private health-care offerings & 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays).
